Weekend Wedding at Asheville Botanical Gardens
This weekend was our first wedding at the new venue: Asheville Botanical Gardens.
The couple wanted an early-morning wedding and, in fact, we got there before the gardens officially opened. I was surprised with the number of people already there, and luckily we didn’t have to kick anybody out of the gazebo.
While it was my first time doing anything on an official scale at the Gardens, it wasn’t Amanda’s, as she has done portraitures there before. In fact, she lost a brand new cell phone in the stream last time she was there. If you see a bright pink cell phone amongst the rocks, it very well may belong to her. She says you can keep it.
The groom was a Captain in the United States Air Force, of which I, too, an a veteran. He is getting deployed to Afghanistan in September, and so the couple had a bit of urgency in getting married. This urgency did not, however, hinder the romance, spontaneity, and excitement of a beautiful wedding day. The bride wore an all-white wedding dress, the groom wore his Air Force blues. Both were stunning, and both were obviously excited and happy.
The groom had previously given the bride a wedding ring made with cubic zirconium. As he said, “She tried her hardest to act surprised and excited. But she didn’t do a good job.” He saved the real ring for the exchanging of rings, and we had to stop the ceremony temporarily because the bride was completely overcome with excitement.
After announcing the couple husband and wife, they went around the entire Botanical Garden and took quite a number of pictures. In a future post, I will be posting a few pictures of the morning. If you are wanting your wedding at the Botanical Gardens, all you have to do is email me here and we will get you set up in no time!
